Ferritor Hall Biological Sciences Center
University of Arkansas
Fayetteville, Arkansas
This new facility, connected by two pedestrian bridges to an existing science building, is totally devoted to research laboratories. The three full floors of laboratories are laid out around an offset double-loaded corridor with laboratories on the larger side and ancillary spaces on the smaller side. Each lab includes a sit-down work counter along the exterior window wall to accommodate the researchers paperwork, telephones and computers. The building exterior is designed to harmonize with the 1930s collegiate gothic buildings, creating a metaphoric reference of the earlier structures.
